Eye Of Judgment Printable Tabletop Players kit
Those who have played my games and the designers who I have play tested with know that I have a knack for component design, taking complex rules and systems and making them into streamlined and intuitive components is my specialty. So I wanted to tackle the task of taking sony’s new PS3 TCG The Eye Of Judgment from the digital board to the real-space tabletop.
This printable PDF has everything you need to play Eye of Judgment without the aid of a PS3. Just like the video game the field tiles flip to change element. The field tiles also have health meters so you can keep track of each monsters health without using handfulls of tokens. Tokens that keep track of the health are also colored to match each player so you will never be confused as to who’s card is who’s, Along with separate energy trackers and reversible dodge/invisible tokens this is a whole solution for playing eye of judgment when your power goes out.

Assembly Instructions
#1. Print out all five pages of the pdf on a nice card stock.
#2. Fold each page down the center gray line so the designs are on the outside of the folded page.
#3. Use spry adhesive (suggested) or glue on the inside of the folded page and press the page together.
#4. Place the pages under a heavy flat object for drying, (not necessary if you used spray adhesive)
#5. While waiting for the glue to dry consider how totally cool it would be to have someone like Tyler Tinsley working for your game company.
#6. After the pages are flat and dry, cut out the tiles and tokens along their edges and use a hole punch in the center of the health markers.
#7. Do not redistribute this pdf or host it on any other sites. Link only to this page and not directly to the file. Thanks for respecting the work I put into this PDF. The file is unprotected from editing so you can edit it for your own personal use (like enlarging and reformatting the images for use with white shrink for something). if you edit it let me know so i can host your version as well.
The folded and glued pages create strong laminated game pieces that will last a long time with genteel use.
Because we’re all forgetful the standard board setup is shown on the back of the center tile. Note the center tile is always gray, it never really flips so this is not a problem.

While the PDF does include health trackers real gamers will already have nice glass stones to replace them. Look at how cool this is.

Fun real-space only variant
Strange world
At the start of the game players take turns building the board they are about to play on in an effort to make some colors more powerful and increase the effectiveness of their cards attack patterns. The first player picks any of the nine tiles and places it on the board with their choice of side up. The second player picks any remaining tile and places it adjacent to the first tile. Players then take turns placing tiles in this manner until all nine tiles are on the table. After the last tile is place the second player may field quake any one tile on the board.
Note: This means the board could take any number of overall shapes and does not have to be the standard 3×3 square. This variant is not possible with the PLAYSTATION because of the limitations of the camera and stand.
Wow!
That looks like a ton of work. Nice job!
Wow man. Seriously, that looks awesome. We’ll have to play it sometime.
Proper warning: I submitted this to Digg because this is just pure awesome. You may have a bit of a traffic spike.
[…] Ok, so the big hoopla about Eye of Judgment is the “augmented reality” part. You know, where the 2D card becomes a 3D monster on a screen? However, the gameplay of the cards is rather compelling to CCG veterans. It’s a unique twist on the genre. However, it is kinda expensive if you don’t already own a PS3, so what is a card game fan to do? Tyler Tinsley has your back. He created a high quality PDF file to print and cut out so you can enjoy EoJ anywhere, not just in front of your TV. Don’t need to see the amazing job he did? Just head on over to his website: http://tylertinsley.com/2007/12/11/eye-of-judgment-printable-tabletop-players-kit/ […]
OMGZ TYLER IS INTERNETS CELEBRITY!!!
I posted this to Digg and sent an email to Destructoid and look what happens?! Rock on Tyler!
I would suggest adding a list of all the cards, with checkboxes in front of them, to your pdf. After all, not only the PS3 is counting everything for you, it’s also making sure you’re not playing a second hero, or a fourth Flame Magus. Trust me, it would be hard to keep track of that if somebody played one phantom at the start of the game, and another one 20 minutes later. Hilda look so much like the Flame Ninja. So one checkbox for heroes, phantoms, and all other unique cards, and 3 checkboxes for those other commons cards.
The main goal of the PS3 is to find an opponent anytime of the day or night, even across the world, but I guess I could see myself using this, on a rainy camping trip. Great job!

That is very cool indeed. I only wish I had someone else to play in person with so I could justify printing this stuff out!
Nice work.
Amazing, truly amazing. I just picked up TEOJ ’cause you can play sans PS3 and was a bit confused on the field setup. But this helped so much. Thanks!
The only thing you might have added would be Possession Tokens in Red and Blue. Very nice though, I’m going to get a copy of this made up.
I think i may make an expansion to this kit that would include a few extra tokens and bits (a cool flippable summon lock would be one of them). I like the Possession tokens and i will likely add some protection tokens. Can any one think of strange card effects that could use a bit of tracking visually.
